Crypto community reacts to Senator Lummis’ reelection decision

The cryptocurrency industry has expressed widespread regret after US Senator Cynthia Lummis announced she will not seek reelection in 2026.

Lummis has been a prominent advocate for digital assets and played a central role in shaping US crypto policy debates in recent years.

Her decision prompted an outpouring of tributes from investors, executives and policymakers across the crypto sector.

Venture capital firm a16z head of government affairs Collin McCune said her influence on the industry was decisive.

Crypto would not be where it is today without her fight in the Congress.

Crypto investment firm Multicoin also praised Lummis for advancing policy priorities that had previously struggled to gain traction.

Multicoin general partner Greg Xethalis said her background helped push reform through resistant political environments.

Her priorities have advanced so far because sometimes it takes a cattle rancher like Sen Lummis to drive good policy.
