The Laundy Family has unveiled a bold new identity for its impending media empire, announcing that Nine Radio will be rebranded as Tapt Media once the acquisition of the audio business is finalised.

Set to take effect on May 1, the transition signals a strategic pivot toward a digital-first future, aiming to solidify the network's dominance across talk radio, live streaming, and data-led advertising solutions.

While the overarching corporate brand undergoes this transformation, the heritage of the network remains intact; the iconic call signs of Sydney's 2GB, Melbourne’s 3AW, Brisbane’s 4BC, and Perth’s 6PR will remain unchanged.

According to the group, the "Tapt" moniker reflects a mission to help audiences and advertisers stay "tapt in" to Australia’s most influential conversations and news cycles.

Tom Malone, the Managing Director of Nine Radio and incoming CEO of Tapt Media, described the move as a significant "statement of intent" for the organisation.

"Our talk stations are the heartbeat of their communities, and they will remain the foundation of what we do," Malone stated, noting that the new brand captures the energy required to thrive in a vibrant, agile digital landscape.
