Middle Island Resources (ASX:MDI) has confirmed significant copper anomalies at its 100%-owned Priboj Project in Serbia following infill soil and rock-chip sampling programs.

Large-scale copper-in-soil anomalies were identified at the Jelaca and Oglavak prospects, with the Jelaca area showing a +200 ppm copper zone extending approximately 900m by 400m and individual rock-chip samples grading up to 0.99% Cu.

The Oglavak prospect revealed a similar +200 ppm copper anomaly over 600m by 400m, with peak soil assay results of 5,876 ppm Cu.

Outcropping copper-mineralised pillow basalts at Jelaca further highlight the project's potential for volcanogenic massive sulphide-style deposits.

Middle Island plans to begin maiden drilling at Jelaca in Q2 2026, alongside additional soil sampling across the broader licence area, which has seen no prior historical exploration.

CEO Peter Spiers said the results reinforce the prospectivity of the region and provide strong evidence of ancient submarine volcanic activity consistent with VMS systems.

At the time of reporting, Middle Island Resources' share price was $0.037.
