Genesis Energy (ASX:GNE) appointed Emma Oettli as its new CFO, effective April 15.
The internal promotion underscores the company's commitment to continuity and local expertise as it navigates a critical period of expansion and capital investment within the New Zealand energy sector.
Oettli is a seasoned veteran within the organisation, having joined Genesis in October 2020.
She currently serves as General Manager of Portfolio Management, a role where she has been instrumental in shaping the company's FY32 growth plan.
Her tenure has been marked by a focus on progressing final investment decisions for new asset developments, leveraging a robust background that includes senior finance positions within both Genesis and the broader banking industry.
CEO Malcolm Johns expressed high confidence in the appointment, noting that Oettli’s deep institutional knowledge makes her an ideal fit for the executive team.
"Emma has had a very successful career and brings a real depth of knowledge of both the sector and Genesis," Johns stated.
He emphasised that she is uniquely well-placed to lead the delivery of the company's capital and performance uplift programs.
As one of New Zealand's largest energy retailers with approximately 500,000 customers, Genesis operates a diverse portfolio of thermal and renewable generation assets.
Oettli’s leadership will be pivotal as the company manages its 46% interest in the Kupe Joint Venture and continues to transition its retail brands, Genesis and Frank Energy, toward a more sustainable future.
