Electro Optic Systems (ASX:EOS) has secured a binding contract worth US$22 million to supply remote weapon systems to a prime contractor for integration onto a major US Army ground combat vehicle.
The multi-year agreement with General Dynamics Land Systems covers RWS hardware, development, spare parts, and training, with work scheduled over the next two to three years.
EOS will manufacture an enhanced RWS at its Huntsville, Alabama facility, designed to meet the US Army's operational requirements, further strengthening the company's presence in the US defence market.
EOS’ RWS, already operational in Australia, the Middle East, North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia, has seen over 2,500 units delivered globally and is recognised for its accuracy and reliability.
The contract marks EOS' significant entry into the US market for its current-generation RWS and could potentially lead to future large-scale orders.
Including recent orders in 2025, EOS' unconditional contract backlog now exceeds $400 million, up from $136 million at the end of 2024, with most expected to convert into revenue during 2026 and 2027.
At the time of reporting, Electro Optic Systems' share price was $9.48.
