eMetals (ASX:EMT) has pivoted towards the critical minerals sector, announcing a binding agreement to acquire a 100% interest in the Mineral Range Tungsten Project located in Beaver County, Utah.

The brownfield exploration opportunity encompasses 25 mineral claims and 84 pending applications, covering approximately 2,072 acres of the highly prospective Mineral Range batholith.

The acquisition places eMetals in a premier mining jurisdiction, aligning with the Utah government’s ambitious goal to supply 25% of the United States’ demand for critical minerals.

The project area boasts a storied history of high-grade production, featuring several historical mines such as Big Pass, Garnet, and Two R’s.

Past records indicate promising grades, including 279 tonnes at 0.79% WO₃ from the Big Pass site.

eMetals plans to implement advanced reconnaissance techniques, such as UV scheelite scanning and XRF analysis, to define drill targets across a 12-kilometre strike length.

The move capitalises on tungsten’s status as a designated critical mineral by the US Department of Energy, potentially opening doors to federal funding and domestic production incentives.

At the time of reporting, eMetals’ share price was $0.0080.
