Critical Resources (ASX:CRR) has achieved a regulatory milestone with the New Zealand Minister of Energy and Resources granting formal consent for the transfer of five key prospecting permits.
The ministerial approval, issued under the Crown Minerals Act 1991, facilitates the 90% ownership transfer of the Rock & Pillar, Silver Peaks, Lammerlaw, Croesus, and Tokomairiro permits to the company's wholly-owned subsidiary, Goldfire Resources.
The transition satisfies the final statutory conditions for the acquisitions from Koura Resources and Euro Gold Ventures, effectively consolidating a strategically vital 1,694km2 gold-antimony portfolio across the Otago and Reefton regions of the South Island.
Further bolstering the Company’s immediate operational outlook, the Department of Conservation has granted approval to commence "Minimum Impact Activities" across four of the permits.
The clearance allows Critical Resources to bypass further administrative delays and initiate early-stage field programs immediately, with initial work focused on the Lammerlaw and Croesus prospects.
Managing Director Tim Wither characterised the approvals as a "pivotal milestone," noting that the company now possesses full statutory authority to operate across its entire New Zealand landholding.
The exploration strategy will focus on targeting historical gold mineralisation and geochemical anomalies, while simultaneously progressing advanced drill planning at the 100% owned Cap Burn Gold Project.
