Yum Brands appoints Steve Bratspies to board

Yum! Brands (NYSE:YUM) appointed Steve Bratspies, former Chief Executive Officer of HanesBrands, to its Board of Directors effective August 26, 2026.

Bratspies joins the board with experience leading consumer businesses, including roles at HanesBrands, Walmart and PepsiCo.

“Steve is a respected business leader with extensive experience leading global consumer brands and driving operational excellence at scale,” said Yum! Brands Non-Executive Chairman Brian Cornell.

Bratspies previously served as CEO and a board member of HanesBrands, while also holding senior leadership roles at Walmart, including Chief Merchandising Officer and Executive Vice President of Food and General Merchandise.

Before Walmart, Bratspies served as Chief Marketing Officer of Specialty Brands and held executive positions at PepsiCo.

Bratspies currently serves on the boards of Target Corporation and The Clorox Company and holds a bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College and an MBA from The Wharton School.

Yum! Brands said his experience across retail, brand management and consumer products will support the company’s board oversight and strategic initiatives.
