TotalEnergies (NYSE:TTE) agreed to sell KKR a 50% stake in a 1.2 GW European wind and solar portfolio valued at €1.8 billion while retaining operating control.
The agreement follows TotalEnergies’ September 2025 sale of a 50% stake in a 1.4 GW North American solar portfolio to KKR, which valued those assets at $1.25 billion.
The portfolio covers assets in Germany, Spain, France and Poland, while TotalEnergies will retain 50%, continue operating the projects and target completion during 2026, subject to customary conditions.
TotalEnergies said the sale supports its target for Integrated Power to reach a 12% return on average capital employed by 2030.
Following the announcement, TotalEnergies' share price was down 1.56% at €75.23.
TotalEnergies previously acquired 50% of EPH’s flexible European power platform covering more than 14 GW after issuing €5.1 billion of TotalEnergies shares to EPH.
The company also sold around 170 MW of distributed European solar assets in July 2026 and agreed to acquire Shell’s 4 GW European onshore renewable business.
