  • Tesla is expected to report third-quarter 2026 vehicle deliveries later this week, with Wall Street forecasting a year-over-year decline.
  • Analysts estimate approximately 463,000 Q3 deliveries, below the 497,000 vehicles delivered in the same period last year.
  • Tesla delayed its next-generation Roadster reveal event due to weather conditions, moving it to October 15.

Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) is preparing to release its third-quarter 2026 delivery figures, with investors watching closely for signs of demand momentum amid a more competitive electric vehicle market.

Wall Street consensus estimates compiled by Bloomberg project Tesla will deliver approximately 463,000 vehicles in the third quarter, representing a sequential decline from the prior quarter and a 6.8% decrease from the 497,000 vehicles delivered in Q3 2025.

The year-over-year comparison is affected by the expiration of the U.S. federal EV tax credit, which supported vehicle purchases during the same period last year.

Analysts noted that Tesla’s performance may be supported by improving market share in the U.S. EV sector, stronger European sales in some markets, and increased exports from Gigafactory Shanghai.

JPMorgan analyst Rajat Gupta said European registrations were down approximately 9% year over year overall, with gains in France and Germany offset by declines in the UK, Italy, and Spain. In China, July-August wholesale volumes, including exports, increased 19% year over year, driven partly by a 92% increase in exports, while estimated domestic retail sales declined 21%.

JPMorgan lowered its Q3 delivery estimate to 482,000 vehicles, citing weakness in China and the U.S.

Tesla’s supervised Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology has also been highlighted as a potential demand support factor.

The company reported at the end of Q2 that FSD subscriptions reached 1.48 million, representing a 56% increase from the prior year.

Tesla also postponed the highly anticipated reveal of its next-generation Roadster.

The event, originally scheduled for October 1, was delayed due to severe weather conditions affecting the planned outdoor presentation.

Tesla announced that the event would now take place on October 15.

The upcoming Roadster has drawn attention since Tesla first unveiled the second-generation model in 2017 and opened reservations with customer deposits.

The company originally targeted deliveries beginning in 2020.

Reports have suggested that a special version of the vehicle could feature technology developed with SpaceX, including cold-gas thrusters that may enable advanced performance demonstrations. Tesla has not confirmed those reported features.
