
Synaptics CFO resigns ahead of merger
- Synaptics CFO Ken Rizvi resigned effective immediately and will remain as an advisor through September 30, 2026.
- The company will not search for a permanent CFO because of its pending merger with onsemi.
- CEO Rahul Patel will serve as principal financial officer until the transaction closes, with Kermit Nolan returning as a finance consultant.
Synaptics (NASDAQ:SYNA) announced that Chief Financial Officer Ken Rizvi has resigned effective immediately and will support the transition as an advisor through September 30, 2026.
The company said it will not conduct a search for a replacement CFO because of its pending merger with onsemi, announced on June 25, 2026.
Rahul Patel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Synaptics, will serve as principal financial officer until the merger closes, while former Chief Accounting Officer Kermit Nolan will return as a consultant to support the finance team.
Synaptics said Rizvi is leaving to pursue another opportunity and will remain available during the transition period ending September 30, 2026.
The company said its focus on Edge AI and Physical AI remains unchanged as it moves toward completion of the proposed transaction with onsemi.
Synaptics and onsemi are expected to provide additional transaction details through SEC filings, including a planned Form S-4 registration statement containing a joint proxy statement and prospectus.
