  • The companies did not disclose the transaction value or an immediate share-price impact.

Stellantis (NYSE:STLA) signed an agreement to sell its entire shareholding in Free2move to Mutares SE & Co. KGaA for an undisclosed amount.

The transaction covers Free2move’s free-floating car-sharing operations across 14 cities in Europe and the United States, including short- and long-term vehicle rentals.

Stellantis said the disposal aligns with its FaSTLAne 2030 strategy and disciplined capital allocation approach by allowing greater focus on core automotive activities.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals, employee consultation requirements and other customary closing conditions.

Mutares said Free2move is expected to operate as an independent mobility platform with revised fleet management and continued electrification.

Free2move provides app-based car-sharing and rental services through fleets operating in major cities across Europe and the United States.

Under Mutares ownership, Free2move is expected to focus on customer experience, urban mobility demand and the development of its independent operating model.
