Sherwin-Williams delivers 7.5% sales growth and raises full-year guidance

Sherwin-Williams (NYSE:SHW) reported second-quarter 2026 net sales of $6.79 billion, representing a 7.5% increase compared to the same period last year.

The top-line growth was supported by solid performance across all of the company's reportable segments.

The Paint Stores Group, the company's largest segment, saw net sales rise by 5.1%, driven by a 4.2% increase in same-store sales.

The Consumer Brands Group posted a significant 21.5% jump in net sales, largely aided by the recent acquisition of Suvinil.

Additionally, the Performance Coatings Group delivered a 6.3% increase in net sales.

The paint and coatings manufacturer reported a net income of $843.6 million, up 11.8% year-over-year.

Diluted earnings per share increased 14.3% to $3.43, while adjusted diluted EPS rose 9.5% to $3.70.

EBITDA for the quarter grew 13.8% to $1.43 billion, reflecting a strong margin of 21.1%.

Following the stronger-than-expected earnings release and an upward revision to its full-year outlook, Sherwin-Williams shares jumped over 5% in early premarket trading.

The company also generated substantial liquidity, recording $1.49 billion in net operating cash during the first half of the year.

Sherwin-Williams demonstrated a strong commitment to shareholder returns, distributing $2.23 billion through dividends and the repurchase of 5.6 million shares over the same six-month period.

Looking ahead, Sherwin-Williams raised its full-year 2026 guidance.

The company now expects diluted EPS in the range of $10.92 to $11.32 and adjusted diluted EPS between $11.80 and $12.20.

Management continues to project full-year net sales to grow in the mid-to-high single digits.
