Red Cat partners With HADDY to scale AI-driven robotic 3D printing for maritime defense

Red Cat (NASDAQ:RCAT) has announced a strategic partnership between its maritime division, Blue Ops, and HADDY to deploy large-scale robotic 3D printing and Agentic AI production systems, aiming to double the manufacturing capacity of its uncrewed surface vessel (USV) platforms.

The collaboration will center on Blue Ops’ facility in Valdosta, Georgia, where HADDY’s additive manufacturing technology will be used to accelerate the production of 5-meter and 7-meter USV hulls.

By integrating Agentic AI—autonomous AI systems capable of goal-directed reasoning and task execution—the partnership seeks to create a "distributed microfactory" network.

This model allows for scalable, on-demand manufacturing that can be shifted closer to operational theaters to reduce logistics lead times.

The move marks a significant shift for Red Cat as it expands beyond small uncrewed aerial systems (sUAS) into larger-scale maritime robotics.

The use of large-format 3D printing is expected to facilitate faster iteration from the design phase to deployment, allowing Blue Ops to modify vessel configurations based on real-time feedback from defense and commercial clients.

HADDY’s technology specializes in high-speed, high-strength composite printing, which is particularly suited for the structural demands of maritime vessels operating in contested or harsh environments.

The 5-meter and 7-meter USV platforms are increasingly in demand for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, as well as kinetic roles in modern naval strategy.

The Valdosta facility upgrade is expected to serve as a blueprint for future regional hubs.
