- The company officially signed a Phase 2 trial implementation agreement with the clinical research division of Thermo Fisher Scientific.
- Following the research partnership disclosure, the company's shares traded lower at $3.21.
- The company stated that the clinical study is expected to evaluate the biological efficacy of its multiple sclerosis treatment.
Quantum BioPharma (NASDAQ:QNTM) signed a study agreement with Thermo Fisher Scientific (NYSE:TMO) to implement its Phase 2 trial.
The partnership initiates formal start-up activities following clearance from the FDA to proceed with the medical study.
“We are pleased to enter into a contract with the clinical research business of Thermo Fisher as we advance the Lucid-MS program toward Phase 2,” said Zeeshan Saeed, Chief Executive Officer of Quantum BioPharma.
“Following FDA clearance to proceed with the Phase 2 study, initiating study start-up activities with a leading global CRO with extensive CNS and MS experience represents an important next step. We look forward to working with Thermo Fisher, our investigators and clinical research partners as we initiate the Lucid-MS Phase 2 study.”
The company expects the randomized study to evaluate the efficacy and tolerability of the Lucid-MS treatment.
The company stated the program evaluates disease biology, and following the announcement the Quantum BioPharma share price was down at $3.21.
This specific trial design formally compares the investigative treatment against a standard placebo baseline.
The newly signed contract marks the preparation phase of the study rather than a report of treatment results.
