Philips Group secures major Stockholm contract for hospital-at-home care
Philips (NYSE:PHG), in partnership with healthcare technology firms Cuviva and Vingmed, has been selected by Region Stockholm to implement a large-scale hospital-at-home program.
The tender, led by Karolinska University Hospital, establishes an agreement lasting up to eight years to serve a metropolitan area of more than two million residents.
The initiative is designed to deliver advanced care to as many as 15,000 patients with complex or chronic conditions each year.
Under the terms of the agreement, the consortium will deploy a suite of digital health tools, including continuous remote monitoring, vital-sign tracking, video consultations, and secure messaging.
The deployment aims to transition hospital-level oversight directly into patients' residences.
Regional health authorities expect the remote infrastructure to alleviate ongoing operational pressures on physical hospital facilities and mitigate workloads for clinical staff, reflecting a broader regional shift toward decentralized medical care.
