  • Natera (NASDAQ:NTRA) published new JAMA Oncology data on its Signatera MRD test in colorectal liver metastases patients.
  • The study showed MRD-positive patients derived significant overall survival benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery.
  • MRD-negative patients showed no observed survival benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy.

Natera (NASDAQ:NTRA) announced publication of new clinical data in JAMA Oncology evaluating its Signatera molecular residual disease (MRD) test in patients with resected colorectal liver metastases (CRLM).

The study was also presented at the 2026 European Society for Medical Oncology Gastrointestinal (ESMO GI) Congress.

The analysis included 298 patients from the GALAXY trial, part of the prospective CIRCULATE-Japan study, with a median follow-up of 43 months.

Researchers reported that MRD-positive patients who received adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery showed improved outcomes compared with observation, including overall survival and disease-free survival benefits.

MRD-negative patients showed favorable outcomes overall, with no observed survival benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy.

Post-surgical MRD status was also strongly associated with prognosis, with MRD positivity linked to significantly worse survival outcomes across both neoadjuvant-treated and non-neoadjuvant groups.

The findings suggest Signatera may help identify which patients are more likely to benefit from adjuvant chemotherapy after curative-intent surgery.

Natera said the results reinforce the role of personalized MRD testing in guiding oncology treatment decisions.
