Mercantile Bank (NASDAQ:MBWM) reported a second-quarter 2026 net income of $25.9 million, equating to $1.50 per diluted share.

This performance represents a notable increase from the $22.6 million, or $1.39 per diluted share, reported during the same quarter the previous year.

Excluding non-recurring acquisition and system conversion costs, the bank's adjusted net income reached $26.4 million, pushing adjusted earnings per share up 10% versus the 2025 period.

Net revenue for the quarter rose 12.8% to $68.8 million, bolstered by a 15.7% increase in net interest income and a higher net interest margin of 3.59%.

Following the announcement, Mercantile Bank's share price was trading around $57.66.

The company also highlighted robust capital metrics, recording a 1.5% return on average assets (ROA) and a 14.0% return on average equity (ROE).

Furthermore, the bank recorded a negative $1.8 million provision for credit losses and improved its loan-to-deposit ratio to 93% on the back of solid local deposit growth.
