MannKind (NASDAQ:MNKD) and Rose Pharma entered a worldwide licensing and collaboration agreement to develop ROSE-010 Technosphere, an investigational inhaled GLP-1 therapy for weight management.
The agreement will combine Rose Pharma’s ROSE-010 GLP-1 receptor agonist with MannKind’s Technosphere dry-powder inhalation technology to develop a rapid-acting, short-duration treatment.
Rose Pharma will receive an exclusive global license to use Technosphere for ROSE-010 Technosphere and will lead clinical development, regulatory strategy, and commercialization, while MannKind will provide formulation and manufacturing support through completion of a Phase 1b study.
Under the agreement, MannKind will receive an equity interest in Rose Pharma, potential royalties on future net sales, and board representation, while the companies said ROSE-010 may also have potential applications in irritable bowel syndrome.
MannKind develops inhaled therapeutic products using its Technosphere platform, which is designed to deliver medicines through dry-powder inhalation technology.
