Kailera Therapeutics (NASDAQ:KLRA) announced completion of enrollment across three global Phase 3 trials evaluating investigational once-weekly ribupatide injection in people with obesity or overweight.
The KaiNETIC Phase 3 program enrolled approximately 2,500 adults without type 2 diabetes, 1,200 adults with type 2 diabetes and 1,200 adults with a body mass index of at least 35 kg/m² without type 2 diabetes.
The trials evaluate weight change at Week 76, with KaiNETIC-2 also measuring hemoglobin A1c changes and KaiNETIC-3 comparing weight change against placebo and semaglutide 2.4 mg, with treatment periods lasting 76 weeks and ribupatide doses reaching up to 10 mg.
Ribupatide is an investigational therapy designed to activate GLP-1 and GIP receptors through a once-weekly injection, and Kailera stated that topline data from the Phase 3 injection trials are expected in mid-2028.
Kailera also stated that it plans to initiate global Phase 3 trials evaluating oral ribupatide for obesity during the first half of 2027 as part of its broader clinical development program.
