  • IDEAYA Biosciences announced a clinical collaboration with Genentech to study IDE892 with GDC-7035 in pancreatic cancer patients.
  • The companies did not disclose financial terms or an immediate stock-market impact from the collaboration announcement.
  • The trial will evaluate a combination approach targeting MTAP-deleted, KRAS G12D-mutant pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.

IDEAYA Biosciences (NASDAQ:IDYA) announced a clinical collaboration with Genentech to evaluate IDE892 with GDC-7035 (RG6620) in patients with MTAP-deleted, KRAS G12D-mutant pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).

The collaboration expands IDE892’s combination development strategy after IDEAYA previously announced a Roche collaboration evaluating IDE892 with another RAS-targeting therapy, RG6505, in MTAP-deleted RAS-mutant PDAC.

Under the agreement, Genentech will sponsor the combination trial, while IDEAYA will provide IDE892, and both companies will oversee the study through joint governance arrangements.

The companies stated that the trial will assess the combination of IDE892 and GDC-7035 in a defined pancreatic cancer population.

IDE892 is a Phase 1 MTA-cooperative PRMT5 inhibitor that IDEAYA is evaluating in MTAP-deleted solid tumors, with the company reporting approximately 1,400-fold selectivity for MTA-PRMT5 versus SAM-PRMT5 cooperative binding and favorable CYP450 interaction data.

IDEAYA is developing therapies based on synthetic lethality approaches in cancer, including programs focused on MTAP-deleted tumors, with IDE892 being studied alongside other targeted agents such as IDE397 and RAS inhibitors.
