Greenbrier (NYSE:GBX) strongly rejected antidumping and countervailing duty petitions filed by Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A) subsidiary UTLX Manufacturing regarding railway tank cars.

The trade dispute follows petitions claiming foreign tank car imports unfairly undercut domestic production standards.

Greenbrier stated that the filings are not supported by facts and ignore its active tank car manufacturing facility in Marmaduke, Arkansas.

The company highlighted that it employs over 2,000 workers across 20 facilities in 11 states to build and maintain railway equipment.

Greenbrier stated that it has invested over $500 million in its Arkansas manufacturing facilities since 2019 to produce equipment using U.S. steel.

The equipment manufacturer confirmed it will fully cooperate with trade reviews conducted by the U.S. Department of Commerce and International Trade Commission.
