  • Glaukos (NYSE:GKOS) signed an exclusive licensing agreement with RevOpsis Therapeutics for RO-104, a tri-specific biologic targeting retinal vascular diseases.
  • The agreement also gives Glaukos exclusive rights to the RevMod platform for up to four additional retinal biologic candidates.
  • Financial terms were not disclosed, while RO-104 remains in preclinical development.

Glaukos (NYSE:GKOS) entered an exclusive license agreement with RevOpsis Therapeutics to develop and commercialize RO-104 for neovascular age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusion.

The agreement also grants Glaukos exclusive rights to the RevMod platform in several retinal diseases, allowing discovery and development of up to four additional biologic candidates.

“The addition of RO-104 and exclusive access to the proprietary RevMod platform in the field of retina represents an important strategic step in the continued expansion of our retinal franchise,” said Glaukos Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Thomas Burns.

RO-104 is designed to block VEGF-A and VEGF-C while inhibiting Ang-2, and Glaukos said preclinical studies showed stronger efficacy than approved anti-VEGF therapies in established animal models.

Glaukos said the agreement is intended to expand its retinal pipeline and discovery capabilities across multiple retinal diseases.

RevOpsis said the partnership provides a route to advance RO-104 while extending its RevMod platform into a broader retinal development program.

Financial terms were not disclosed, and Glaukos did not provide a clinical development timeline for RO-104 in the announcement.
