Generac Holdings (NYSE:GNRC) has finalized the acquisition of a new manufacturing facility in Belvidere, Illinois.
The expansion is aimed at capturing market share in the high-margin industrial power sector, specifically targeting the power infrastructure needs of modern data centers.
The new plant will focus on the packaging and integration of large-megawatt generator systems.
These high-capacity units are increasingly vital for backup power and grid stability as hyperscale data centers expand rapidly across North America.
The Belvidere site is structured to work in tandem with Enercon Engineering, a specialized power integration business Generac previously acquired.
By linking Enercon’s engineering capabilities with the physical square footage of the new Illinois facility, Generac aims to accelerate its production timelines for complex, large-scale backup systems.
Following the announcement, Generac shares traded at $272.25.
The company plans to complete necessary retrofitting and tooling updates throughout the coming months, aiming for an operational launch date in the first quarter of 2027.
Local workforce recruitment will begin ahead of the opening, with the facility projected to add over 100 industrial engineering and manufacturing jobs to the region.
