Galaxy secures New York BitLicense to target institutional crypto market

Galaxy Digital Holdings (NASDAQ:GLXY) has secured a BitLicense and a Money Transmission License from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) for its subsidiary, GalaxyOne Prime NY.

The regulatory approvals grant the financial services firm authorization to offer institutional-grade, regulated digital asset trading and custody solutions directly within the state of New York, a primary jurisdiction for global capital markets.

The expansion into New York’s strict regulatory framework comes as Galaxy manages approximately $9 billion in client assets.

The company holds more than 50 operational licenses globally, and this latest domestic clearance is expected to deepen its product deployment for hedge funds, asset managers, and corporate treasuries seeking compliant execution and clearing infrastructure.
