FTAI Aviation (NASDAQ:FTAI) acquired 27 Boeing 737-700 aircraft from WestJet, with the purchase divided between its 2026 SPV investment vehicle and Aerospace Products business.
The company’s 2026 SPV acquired 17 aircraft through a sale-leaseback transaction with WestJet, while FTAI Aviation acquired the remaining 10 aircraft off lease for its Aerospace Products business.
FTAI Aviation said the 10 aircraft acquired by Aerospace Products are expected to expand its supply of CFM56-7B engines and modules for its Maintenance, Repair and Exchange customers.
FTAI Aviation focuses on aviation assets, including aircraft leasing, engine products, and aftermarket services for commercial aviation operators.
The company said its 2026 SPV was created to acquire mid-life Boeing 737NG and Airbus A320ceo aircraft already under lease, following its 2025 SPV that secured $2 billion in equity commitments and committed approximately $6. billion in total capital across more than 300 aircraft.
