Fortuna Mining (NYSE:FSM) reported on April 9, 2026, that its gold equivalent production rose to 72,872 ounces (GEO) in the first quarter of 2026, representing a significant increase from the 65,130 GEO produced in the final quarter of 2025.

Following the strong start to the year, the company reaffirmed its full-year 2026 production guidance of 281,000 to 305,000 GEO.

The company’s output was anchored by the Séguéla mine in Côte d'Ivoire, which produced 42,016 ounces of gold.

Performance across the rest of the portfolio remained steady, with the Lindero mine contributing 21,545 ounces of gold and the Caylloma mine delivering 9,311 gold equivalent ounces.

Management highlighted that operational efficiencies and grade improvements at Séguéla were primary drivers of the quarterly beat.

The company is currently advancing an expansion project at the site, alongside a feasibility study for the Diamba Sud project, both of which are tracking toward key development milestones in mid-2026.

In addition to operational growth, Fortuna remained active in its capital return program.

During the quarter, the company repurchased 2.2 million shares for a total of $20.3 million, reflecting management's view that the current market valuation does not fully capture the company’s underlying asset value and growth trajectory.

Financially, the company continues to benefit from a favorable gold price environment, which has bolstered cash flow and allowed for simultaneous investment in its project pipeline and shareholder distributions.

The Diamba Sud project in Senegal remains a focal point for investors, as the upcoming feasibility results are expected to outline the path for Fortuna’s next phase of production growth.
