Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) reported robust U.S. sales results for the fourth quarter and full year 2025, with Q4 sales rising 2.7% year-over-year and annual sales climbing 6% to approximately 2.2 million vehicles.

The gains helped lift Ford's full-year U.S. market share to 13.2%.

Rival General Motors (NYSE:GM) reported a 5.5% increase in 2025 sales, totaling 2.853 million vehicles, but experienced a Q4 decline.

While F-Series trucks remained Ford's volume leader and claimed the title of America's best-selling truck for the 49th consecutive year, Q4 F-Series sales dipped 3.1%, though full-year volume rose 8.3%.

Electric vehicle sales fell sharply—down 50%—following the expiration of federal EV tax credits, mirroring a similar impact at GM that contributed to its Q4 sales dip.

Ford, however, offset the EV weakness with strong hybrid performance, achieving a net Q4 gain.

Total hybrid sales reached an all-time record of 228,072 vehicles for the year, up 21.7% from 2024, with Q4 also setting a quarterly record.

The Maverick compact pickup, which comes standard with a hybrid powertrain, posted its best-ever annual sales of approximately 155,000 units, a gain of more than 18%.
