Evotec targets 18-month J.TRAIN biologics deployments
- Evotec (NASDAQ:EVO) launched J.TRAIN to let biopharma partners install its continuous biologics manufacturing platform inside their own facilities.
- The company said J.TRAIN can produce more than 500 kg of drug substance from under 10,000 sq ft of cleanroom space.
- Evotec said the model supports faster capacity expansion, flexible multi-product manufacturing and deployment in about 18 months.
Evotec (NASDAQ:EVO) launched J.TRAIN, a turnkey biologics manufacturing model designed to place its continuous manufacturing technology inside partner-owned facilities.
The company said the model expands Just – Evotec Biologics’ partner-enablement strategy after its December 2025 Sandoz transaction, which included a manufacturing facility and technology license.
“J.TRAIN is a disruptive opportunity for industry to increase capacity and manufacture biologics at reduced costs and improved productivity,” said Evotec EVP Global Head of Just – Evotec Biologics Linda Zuckerman.
The platform combines modular cleanrooms, standard manufacturing equipment, and cGMP-compliant automation, while Evotec said deployment can take about 18 months.
Evotec said J.TRAIN can produce more than 500 kg of biologic drug substance from under 10,000 sq ft.
The company said J.TRAIN was unveiled at INTERPHEX in New York in April 2026 and supports flexible production runs across multi-product manufacturing settings.
Evotec said its wider business covers small molecules, biologics, cell therapies and more than 100 proprietary R&D assets across oncology, cardiovascular and metabolic diseases, neurology and immunology.
