- At 52 weeks, Foundayo 17.2 mg showed 1.5% greater weight loss and 0.3% greater A1C reduction in the analysis.

Eli Lilly (NYSE:LLY) reported an indirect comparison suggesting that Foundayo 17.2 mg produced greater weight loss and A1C reduction than oral semaglutide 25 mg in adults with type 2 diabetes.
The analysis compared data from the ACHIEVE-3 and PIONEER PLUS trials, rather than results from a direct clinical trial between the two treatments.
Lilly said that at 52 weeks, Foundayo 17.2 mg was associated with 1.5% greater weight loss and 0.3% greater A1C reduction compared with oral semaglutide 25 mg, while noting that the comparison was based on separate studies.
In the Phase 3 ACHIEVE-3 head-to-head trial, Lilly reported that Foundayo 17.2 mg reduced A1C by 2.2% and body weight by 9.2% at 52 weeks, compared with 1.4% and 5.3%, respectively, for oral semaglutide 14 mg.
Lilly said Foundayo is approved in the United States for weight management in eligible adults and is being evaluated as a potential treatment for type 2 diabetes, while oral semaglutide 25 mg is not approved in the United States for type 2 diabetes.
