UK's Reeves: OBR Sees 2029-30 Fiscal Buffer of £23.6 Bln

UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves said the Office for Budget Responsibility forecast she would meet her key fiscal rule to cover day-to-day expenditure with tax revenues in 2029/30 with a £23.6 billion ($31.4 billion) buffer, higher than the £21.7 billion headroom Reeves left herself in November. She was speaking in the House of Commons.

Market Not Pricing In Prolonged Hormuz Closure: Fiotakis

Themos Fiotakis, Barlcays' FX strategy and emerging markets macro strategy global head, says markets have not fully priced in the implications of a possible closure of the Strait of Hormuz of more than a couple of weeks. "I don't think we're priced yet either in terms of commodity prices or in terms of the implications of higher commodity prices," he tells Bloomberg Television. Fiotakis also discusses inflation worries amid continuing conflict in the Middle East.
