Voter Registration, Data 'Not a Federal Issue,' Says Former Governor Chris Christie

Former Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie said that issues around voting registration and administering elections should be left up to states and does not see evidence from recent years that the federal government would run elections better than Governors in individual states. Christie, who is now a strategic advisor to the American Gaming Association, also weighed in on prediction market regulation and said that he is glad prediction market executives were left out of a White House meeting because they are 'illegal actors.'

Daniel Fried, former US ambassador to Poland, said 'Iranians have little incentive in the near term' to allow the Strait of Hormuz to open and that a solution to the conflict will require patience. Fried, who also served as the assistant Secretary of State for Europe, also said that when it comes to assisting Ukraine in war against Russia, the US is leaving 'perfectly good leverage on the table' because Ukrainian success also means success for the US.

Goldman's McClure Says IPO Market 'Wide Open' for Business

Matthew McClure, Goldman Sachs global co-head of investment, says the IPO market is "open for business," with AI-related companies accounting for more than half of capital raised despite representing about 20% of IPOs this year. Speaking with Dani Burger on "Bloomberg Deals," McClure says confidence is growing in private equity, with $1.5 trillion of capital waiting to be deployed.
