Buffett Goes Out Like a Bear With $5 Billion in 4Q Sales

Warren Buffett's last quarter as Berkshire Hathaway's CEO reflected a bearish sentiment as he prepares to depart the firm, handing the reins to Greg Abel. The conglomerate cut its Amazon stake by 75%, with the position likely gaining 130-140% and performing broadly in line with the S&P 500. Chevron and Chubb, among its top 10 holdings, saw position increases. Impact of AI Starting to Kick In on Economy Says Moody's Zandi

Moody's Analytics chief economist Mark Zandi said that the impact of AI is starting to 'kick in' across the economy, particularly in hiring rates and in the tech sector. Zandi also talked about efforts to create more affordable housing, saying that it while congress is taking positive steps, it will take awhile for the US to find its way out.

Berkshire Cuts Amazon Stake, Makes Bet on New York Times

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. slashed its holding in Amazon.com Inc. by more than 75% in the fourth quarter, while also building a stake in the New York Times Co.   Warren Buffett's last new bet as chief executive officer.  The conglomerate acquired 5.1 million shares of the media publishing company in the three months through December, a stake worth $351.7 million at year-end, according to a regulatory filing Tuesday. Bloomberg's Matthew Palazola joins to discuss.
