Canadian Solar (NASDAQ:CSIQ) said the remaining U.S. patent proceeding brought by Maxeon Solar was resolved in its favor after the federal infringement lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice.
The dispute began in March 2024 over three TOPCon solar-cell patents, with January 2026 PTAB decisions finding the patent claims asserted against Canadian Solar invalid.
The Federal Circuit also vacated the relevant portion of a PTAB decision after Maxeon issued a unilateral covenant not to sue Canadian Solar for infringement.
Following the announcement, Canadian Solar's share price was down 2.31% at $14.79 in premarket trading.
Canadian Solar has delivered nearly 177 GW of solar modules and had shipped more than 20 GWh of battery storage products by March 31, 2026.
The company also reported a $3.5 billion e-STORAGE contracted backlog as of May 8 while continuing to expand its solar manufacturing, storage and renewable-project businesses.
