Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's newest national carrier, has officially taken delivery of its first two factory-new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners.

The aircraft arrived in the Saudi capital on June 5, 2026, marking a pivotal moment for the airline as it prepares to commence full-service commercial operations.

The arrival follows a significant wait, as the deliveries were previously impacted by Boeing’s (NYSE:BA) production scheduling and the complexity of the airline’s bespoke interior configurations.

The two aircraft, registered as HZ-RXAA and HZ-RXAB, departed from Boeing’s U.S. facilities in Charleston, South Carolina, and Everett, Washington, respectively, before converging in Riyadh.

These deliveries represent the initial installment of an order for up to 72 Dreamliners, comprising 39 firm commitments and 33 options.

The airline intends to utilize these fuel-efficient, long-range aircraft as the foundation for a global network that aims to connect Riyadh to more than 100 destinations worldwide by 2030.
