Avista net income rises to $35 million

Avista (NYSE:AVA) reported Q2 GAAP net income of $35 million, up from $14 million, while diluted EPS reached $0.43.

Year-to-date net income rose to $127 million, although quarterly non-GAAP utility earnings remained nearly flat at $23 million.

“Strong execution of our operational priorities reinforces confidence in our outlook,” said Avista President and CEO Heather Rosentrater.

Avista maintained 2026 utility EPS guidance of $2.52–$2.72, based on normal weather, a 12% tax rate and $615 million of capital spending.

Following the announcement, Avista's share price was down 3.61% at $38.99.

Non-regulated businesses generated $13 million during the first half, compared with a $12 million loss, mainly because of investment gains.

Avista expects to issue up to $90 million of stock and $230 million of long-term debt during 2026.
