AerCap (NYSE:AER) today announced a major commitment to the future of single-aisle aviation, confirming an order for 100 Airbus A320neo Family aircraft.

The deal is a hybrid of strategic foresight and new investment, combining the exercise of 45 existing purchase options with an additional 55 firm orders.

Deliveries for this massive trilateral agreement are slated to begin in 2028 and extend through 2034, ensuring AerCap maintains its dominant position in providing fuel-efficient, next-generation lift to global airline partners.

A critical component of this transaction is the immediate support for the current global fleet.

AerCap, through its Shannon Engine Support (SES) joint venture, has agreed to lease 48 CFM LEAP-1A engines.

These engine deliveries are scheduled to begin as early as the second quarter of 2026, providing vital spare engine capacity to operators navigating the ongoing maintenance cycles of the LEAP engine platform.

The deal is specifically structured to support Airbus and CFM International in meeting their production and in-service commitments amidst a tight aerospace supply chain.

The 100-plane order also carries immediate commercial weight through long-term lease agreements.

A portion of these newly ordered aircraft is already earmarked to support the fleet renewal and expansion of Frontier Airlines.

By securing these delivery slots, AerCap is helping low-cost carriers lock in capacity late into the decade, a period when production slots at major OEMs are increasingly scarce.

Financially, the move underscores AerCap’s robust liquidity and its ability to act as a stabilizer for the aerospace manufacturing ecosystem.
