AutoNation revenue reaches $6.9 billion in Q2

AutoNation (NYSE:AN) reported second-quarter 2026 revenue of $6.9 billion, down 1% year over year, while adjusted earnings per share increased to $5.56 from $5.46.

The company reported GAAP EPS of $5.39 compared with $2.26 a year earlier, supported by higher after-sales performance and other business improvements.

AutoNation reported record after-sales gross profit, with Customer Pay revenue growth of 7%, while its CFS gross profit per unit increased 3% and AutoNation Finance portfolio growth exceeded 50%.

The company acquired four dealerships adding approximately $600 million in revenue, repurchased $457 million of shares in the first half of 2026.

AutoNation Finance reported year-to-date profit growth of 10 times compared with the prior-year period, while the company reduced its share count by more than 6% through repurchases.

AutoNation operates automotive dealerships across the United States, selling new and used vehicles and providing financing, maintenance and repair services.
