Texas-based AST SpaceMobile (NASDAQ:ASTS) achieved a major deployment milestone on Wednesday with the successful orbital launch of its three massive BlueBirds 8, 9, and 10 communications satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The deployment marks a significant scale-up from the company's initial Block 1 test phases, expanding an infrastructure built to provide direct cellular broadband access to standard smartphones without modifications.

"Our team has built a new class of space-based cellular broadband technology that connects seamlessly to everyday smartphones," said AST SpaceMobile Founder, Chairman, and CEO Abel Avellan.

Measuring approximately 2,400 square feet each, these satellites feature the largest commercial communications arrays ever deployed in low Earth orbit and are engineered to deliver nearly double the peak data speeds of their predecessors.

As the constellation scales toward commercial activation across markets like the United States and Japan, following the announcement, AST SpaceMobile's share price was down at $85.89.

To support this global network, the company has entered into agreements with nearly 60 mobile network operators representing a combined subscriber base of more than 3 billion people.

Manufacturing and assembly operations remain anchored at the company's Texas facilities, which span over 500,000 square feet and are backed by a portfolio of more than 3,900 patents and patent-pending claims.
