Amentum (NYSE:AMTM) on Thursday announced its NEXUS-NL consortium has secured a landmark €180 million ($207 million) contract to spearhead the Netherlands' return to large-scale nuclear power.

The two-year framework agreement, awarded by the Dutch Ministry of Climate Policy and Green Growth, tasks the consortium with the planning and development of up to two new gigawatt-scale nuclear power plants.

These facilities are a cornerstone of the Netherlands' strategy to achieve a carbon-neutral energy supply by 2040.

Amentum will lead the group—which includes engineering giants Arcadis, Tractebel, and NRG PALLAS—in providing technical and program management solutions for the newly formed Nuclear Energy Organisation Netherlands (NEO NL).

The contract marks a significant victory for Amentum's Energy & Environment business as it expands its footprint in the European civil nuclear market.

The initial phase of the project will focus on site characterization, technology selection, and the complex planning required for utility connections and transportation links.
