The decline was driven by lower sales across Consumer Floral & Gifts and Gourmet Foods & Gift Baskets, while BloomNet revenue increased 1.9% during the quarter.
Gross profit margin decreased to 34.7% from 35.5%, while operating expenses declined by $16.7 million to $158.2 million due to lower marketing and labor costs.
Consumer Floral & Gifts revenue declined 13.4%, while Gourmet Foods & Gift Baskets revenue fell 15.4%, partly affected by the timing of Easter.
The company reported an adjusted EBITDA loss of $31 million compared with an adjusted EBITDA loss of $24.2 million in the prior-year period.
