Zilliqa (CRYPTO:ZIL) has paused ZIL deposits after an exchange partner reported a security breach involving one of its wallets.

The network said the incident involved a third-party wallet and did not affect the security of the Zilliqa blockchain.

"We are working closely with the affected exchange partner to investigate the incident and restore services safely," the Zilliqa team said.

The deposit suspension is a precaution while the investigation continues and security checks are completed.

Zilliqa said users can continue using the blockchain, as the breach did not compromise the network itself.

Crypto exchanges and blockchain projects often pause deposits and withdrawals following security incidents to protect user funds and prevent further risks.

Zilliqa said it will provide updates as the investigation progresses and when deposits are ready to resume.

At the time of reporting, Zilliqa price was $0.002443.
