David Schwartz warned XRP Ledger users about a growing wave of fake airdrop and giveaway scams targeting the XRP community across social media platforms.

Schwartz said scammers were increasingly impersonating him and other prominent crypto figures on platforms including Instagram and Telegram to distribute fraudulent reward offers and phishing links.

“SCAM ALERT: There has been a huge escalation lately in airdrop and giveaway scams targetting XRPL users lately,”

Schwartz said.

The Ripple executive urged users to avoid accounts claiming to represent him on social platforms, warning that impersonators often use copied profiles, fake events and misleading XRP promotions to appear legitimate.

Fraud campaigns linked to the XRP ecosystem have increasingly involved malicious wallet prompts, fake verification requests and phishing websites designed to steal credentials or gain unauthorised wallet access.

Security warnings tied to the XRP community have also highlighted cloned livestreams, hijacked YouTube channels and fake support outreach using XRP branding and executive identities to lure victims.

“Anyone claiming to be me on Instagram, Telegram, or almost anywhere else is likely a scammer,”
