XRP holds at US$1.05 as network activity jumps 72%
- XRP (CRYPTO:XRP) was trading at US$1.05, down 6% on the week and remaining below key resistance levels.
- Despite the weak price action, active addresses on the XRP Ledger rose by 72% over the past two weeks, signalling a sharp rise in network usage.
- Open interest in XRP, a measure of leveraged positions, fell to its lowest level since July 2025.
Analysts note that lower open interest reduces the risk of forced liquidations cascading the price lower during sharp moves.
Ripple has proposed a new XRP Ledger standard that would allow institutions to borrow against tokenised real-world assets, with the blockchain enforcing loan terms while credit teams handle underwriting.
The proposal still requires validator approval before it can go live on the network.
The US$1.00 level remains the key support XRP has defended throughout the current correction, with US$0.95 and US$0.90 as further downside levels if it breaks.
On the upside, a reclaim of US$1.12 followed by US$1.20 would be needed to signal the downtrend is reversing.
The CLARITY Act, viewed as XRP's primary regulatory catalyst, remains stalled over a contested provision, with the next hearing scheduled for 17 July 2026.
The divergence between weak price action and strengthening on-chain fundamentals has drawn attention from market observers tracking the asset.
Holding the US$1.00 support level is seen as critical to maintaining the healthier technical setup suggested by the recent network data.
At the time of reporting, XRP price was $1.04.
