World Liberty Financial received conditional approval from the US OCC for a national trust bank charter.

The proposed bank would operate as World Liberty Trust Company and offer digital asset services.

“The Comptroller and staff acted consistently with their statutory duties and ethical obligations with respect to the Application,” the OCC said.

World Liberty plans to issue dollar-backed stablecoins and custody digital assets linked to its USD1 token.

Trump and his three sons are linked to World Liberty, while a Trump family entity controls 38% of its equity.

The approval has drawn criticism from lawmakers over possible conflicts involving Trump’s business interests.

The company also has ties to the UAE, including a reported $500 million investment for a 49% stake in 2025.
