White House crypto adviser takes military leave
- White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt will leave his role for Army National Guard training later this month.
- His temporary absence comes as US lawmakers debate major crypto bills.
- The White House said its digital asset policy work will continue during his leave.
White House crypto adviser Patrick Witt will leave his post on July 27 for required US Army National Guard training during a key period for crypto legislation.
His leave comes as the US Senate continues work on the CLARITY Act and other bills that would shape crypto regulation.
"There is no interruption to the president's digital assets agenda," a White House official told Crypto in America.
Witt will complete training with the Georgia Army National Guard's Judge Advocate General programme before returning to the White House.
The White House said other officials will continue leading its crypto policy work while Witt is away.
Witt joined the White House in 2025 after serving at the US Department of Defense and has helped shape the administration's digital asset plans.
His work has included talks on stablecoins, the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve and crypto market rules as the administration pushes its digital asset agenda.
