Visa backs stablecoins despite competition fears

Visa said stablecoins remain an important part of its long-term growth strategy after reporting its latest earnings.

The company said it is expanding stablecoin services as more banks, businesses and payment providers adopt digital assets.

“Our momentum in consumer, commercial, and money movement is clearly strong and will strengthen with agentic commerce and stablecoins,” said Visa Chief Executive Officer Ryan McInerney.

Visa said stablecoins will work alongside traditional payment networks by improving settlement and money transfers.

Visa has expanded its stablecoin business through new payment services, blockchain partnerships and settlement tools.

The company said it wants to help banks and businesses use stablecoins without replacing existing payment systems.
