President Donald Trump announced the formation of the Super Intelligence Force on Sunday, October 4, in a Truth Social post.
Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton will lead the new federal group alongside three senior officials.
“ensure that America continues to lead the World in Super Intelligence,” President Donald J. Trump said in a statement.
The force will coordinate federal engagement with consumers, public-interest groups and technology companies.
The group will also engage religious organisations and critical infrastructure providers across the emerging technology sector.
Federal Trade Commission Chairman Andrew Ferguson will serve alongside Clayton on the initiative.
Under Secretary of War for Research and Engineering and Chief Technology Officer Emil Michael will also participate.
The initiative marks a new federal coordination effort around advanced artificial intelligence.
