Toncoin jumps 30% as Telegram backs TON
Toncoin surged more than 30% in 24 hours after Pavel Durov said Telegram would take a more active role in developing the TON blockchain.
The token climbed from $1.37 to $1.84, pushing market capitalisation to $4.5 billion, while trading volume jumped 600% to over $630 million amid heightened investor interest.
Meme tokens across the TON ecosystem also rallied, with Notcoin rising 26% and Dogs jumping more than 90% despite remaining significantly below prior highs.
Telegram said it will become the network’s largest validator and focus on core development, including performance upgrades, new developer tools, and a revamped ton.org within weeks.
Smaller tokens posted outsized gains, with Morfey rising nearly 1,000%, Resistance Duck up 645%, and Cubigator gaining 390%, highlighting speculative momentum in the ecosystem.
Despite the rally, several tokens remain sharply below historical peaks, underscoring ongoing volatility and risk in meme-driven crypto markets.
The move signals renewed attention on the TON ecosystem as Telegram deepens integration, potentially driving further user adoption and on-chain activity.
At the time of reporting, Toncoin price was $1.81.
