Bitkub Capital Group Holdings is facing a criminal complaint after Thailand's Securities and Exchange Commission alleged the company failed to promptly disclose a cyberattack that resulted in losses of about $47 million.
The regulator said the alleged delay breached disclosure rules designed to ensure investors receive material information in a timely manner.
"Bitkub has fully cooperated with the SEC throughout the investigation and respectfully disagrees with the allegations," the company said.
Thailand's SEC has referred the matter to the Economic Crime Suppression Division for further investigation and possible legal action.
Bitkub said customer assets were not affected because the incident involved company funds.
The complaint highlights growing regulatory scrutiny of how cryptocurrency exchanges report cybersecurity incidents and other material events to investors.
